Singletrack Maniac 50K – 2017

Singletrack Maniac 50K – 2017

April Fools for some this year involved running through the woods of James City County’s Freedom Park. The singletrack is normally used by mountain bikes and is 75% full of roots, twists, and an elevation change of 1,500 ft provided for a challenging ultra marathon course. This is my second year capturing the race and I liked the move to the less humid month of April from the usual mid-May event day. Steve Speirs from Virginia Beach came in first for the men in 4:33:31 and Erin Williams of Manquin for the women in 4:56:40. You can see my whole gallery from the race here.

Again, this race had great volunteers and was well organized. This race even provides facilities for showering, great snacks, plus this year had yummy food from Zoe’s Kitchen. Cheers to everyone!

P.S. I wanted to highlight each runner, but there are too many to do in a blog post. So, check out my complete gallery from the race. Let me know what you think! I hope to be back again next year.
