Baby Malcolm – Agecroft Hall

Baby Malcolm – Agecroft Hall

A fun yet challenging part of portrait photography is selecting the location for each session. I love to offer suggestions, but I also like to listen to any ideas my clients have for what they would like their backdrop to contain. On thinking about locations for Malcolm’s 4 month old portraits, his parents and I thought through a variety of locations that had special meaning for them and would make a memorable portrait to mark this milestone of childhood.

We decided to go to Agecroft Hall, which is a Tudor manor house that was moved from England in 1925 and rebuilt on the banks of the James River in the Richmond neighborhood of Windsor Farms. It has a lovely main house along with beautiful gardens and grounds. It is also home to a theatre for works of Shakespeare.

It allowed us to capture those moments that will soon be a part of the past, since babies develop so quickly. Malcolm was a wonderful champ during this outing. His eyes say so much! I can’t wait to capture more of your life’s moments!
